A small mountain village in southwestern South Africa suffered a serious fire a few years ago, hitting local facilities and tourism projects hard, and a very dedicated woman from the village recently managed to set a new world record with one of her special skills to help her hometown attract more international tourists.

According to the Guinness World Records official website, on December 31, 2018, just as people around the world were happily welcoming the New Year's festivities, a devastating fire broke out in a village called Wupperthal in the Western Cape province of South Africa, where the vast majority of buildings were burned down and more than two hundred people instantly lost their homes.

Ingar Valentyn, who works at the local tourist office, was one of those who lost their homes when the fire destroyed not only her family home, where she grew up but also the small hotel she ran.

In the past four years, the village of Wuppertal has largely been rebuilt, and Inger, a tourism professional, decided to use her professional "tea artist" status to challenge the world record for her skill in brewing tea, hoping to draw attention to her hometown from around the world to revive local tourism.

She chose to brew the world-famous South African national treasure tea (Rooibos Tea, also known as Dr. Tea, Louis Posh Tea), and the tea's central origin is Wuppertal so this tea can be the most suitable choice.

To break the Guinness World Record, she had to brew at least 150 cups of tea in one hour and each mug had to be at least 142 ml to qualify, with a Guinness World Record certifier looking on the sidelines throughout.

Inger has been maintaining a steady rate of tea brewing, only a short 20 minutes to brew 92 cups, and finally brewed 249 cups of tea in an hour to succeed in the challenge, far exceeding her expectations.

To avoid waste, she also got many local students and community members to come and taste tea in advance.

It is understood that South Africa's national treasure tea does not contain caffeine, is suitable for drinking before bed, can stabilize the mood and improve sleep quality, and can defend against free radicals in cardiovascular, and DNA damage, but also prevents cancer, blood vessel blockage, stroke and heart disease and other multiple effects, so enjoy the "South African ruby" reputation.
