Roller skating is a sports event that integrates fitness, competition, entertainment, fun, skills, art, leisure and thrills. Roller skating can effectively improve and enhance the function of the body's central nervous system, improve the function of the respiratory system, digestive system, blood circulation system and other internal organs, and can fully coordinate and comprehensively develop the speed, strength, endurance, sensitivity and other aspects of the human body.

In particular, it has a positive effect on the physical and mental development of young people. Here are some different kinds of roller-skating activities.

1. Casual roller skating

Casual roller skating is not a competition event, it is a free "playing game" without rules. Any roller-skating enthusiast can put on roller skates to shuttle in the streets, parks, and squares. "Flushing the street" is an important part of recreational roller skating. Flushing the street refers to skating on the street with roller skates (not in a fixed square, park, field). Casual roller-skating shoes are generally suitable for beginners in roller skating. The wheels of casual shoes are all the same size, the wheels are softer, and there are brakes behind the wheels, which provide better grip and provide safety for beginners.

2. Speed roller skating

Speed roller skating is divided into single row and double row, of which single row is the current international mainstream. Speed roller skating is divided into three categories: field races, road races, and marathon races. Speed roller skating is to pursuit speed (endurance is also very important in long-distance competitions), so we can see that the wheels of speed roller skating shoes are usually large, and the common wheel diameter is 90mm, 100mm, 110mm, 125mm, the tool holder has three and four wheels.

3. Roller hockey

Roller hockey can be divided into single-row roller hockey and double-row roller hockey. Currently, single-row roller hockey is the mainstream item. Roller hockey is a teamwork and confrontational roller-skating event in which the hand wearing roller skates holds the club and competes for the ball on the ground and shoots the ball into the opponent's goal. Roller hockey is developed from ice hockey and is a derivative of ice hockey on land. The rules of the two are very similar. Roller hockey is a rare group confrontation project in roller skating, very similar to football and basketball. In a roller hockey game, a team has five players on the field, one of which is the goalkeeper. The playing field is generally 50 meters x 25 meters, 40 meters x 20 meters or 30 meters x 15 meters. Roller hockey is a highly competitive sport, so players and goalkeepers wear full-body helmets and protective gear.

4. Freestyle roller skating

Freestyle roller skating was called "flat ground trick" in the early days. Freestyle roller skating is divided into: fancy round piles, speed over piles, fancy braking, and fancy confrontation. The differences between several small items of freestyle roller skating are quite big. They have different ways of playing and different rules of the game.

5. Extreme roller skating

Extreme roller skating is mainly divided into wild street blocks and professional venues. Professional venues are divided into prop competitions and half-pipe U-shaped pools. The culture of extreme roller skating is closer to skateboarding.
